According to Dr. Ajit Karunarathne, Assistant Professor of UT Department of Chemistry and Bio-Chemistry, the blue light damages the retina of our eyes. Due to which it causes blindness. When blue light falls on the eyes, poisonous chemical molecules are generated in photoreceptor cells that kill photoreceptor cells. Once the photoreceptor cell is defective, it is never generated in the eye again.
Let’s see its solution.
· Keep blinking your eyes.
Blinking the eyes more often will make the eyes wet and irritation – dryness will be reduced. Therefore, blink your eyes 10 times every 20 minutes.
· Keep Your Distance.
Most people only hold their mobile phones at a distance of 8 inches. Hold the mobile phone at least 16 to 18 inches away from the eyes.
· Give the eyes a break.
After every 20 minutes, rest your eyes for 20 seconds. By doing this, the muscles of the eye will be relaxed for a while.
· Do not look at your mobile phone before sleeping.
According to the National sleep foundation, blue light inhibits the production of the hormone melatonin, which also affects sleepers. So do not run your mobile phone for at least 30 minutes before sleeping.
· Blink your eyes with water.
Water should be sprayed frequently on your eyes. Blinking the eyes with water will reduce the dryness of the eyes and problems related to the eyes will also be eliminated. This will reduce problems such as blurred vision.
· Reduce screen brightness.
The higher the brightness of the screen, the tighter your eyes will be. Especially at night, the high brightness screen produces a strain in the eye and causes more irritation. So you adjust the brightness during the day and night.
Protect eyes from sunscreen. 1-4 tablespoons of organic sunflower oil, ascorbic acid, or olive leaf powder to a small glass jar with lid and shake well before use. For best results add 2 teaspoons (3/8 teaspoon) salt water in half the amount; stir quickly after each application and let stand for 5 minutes on low heat. If skin is dry immediately wash clean using soap and warm soapy towels. Wash hands carefully because they can become contaminated when handling oils containing petroleum base. Do not store below 36 degrees.
