Family Background  

Riteish Deshmukh belongs to a political family. His father Vilasrao Deshmukh was a Member of Parliament. Along with this, he was also the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises of India. Although his mother Vaishali Deshmukh is a housewife. Along with Ritesh’s father, Ritesh’s brother is also surrounded by political atmosphere and work. However, his elder brother Amit and younger brother Dheeraj are carrying on their father’s legacy.

Education and Degrees 

Riteish Deshmukh has completed his schooling at GD Somani Memorial School. However, he later joined Kamala Raheja College of Architecture, Mumbai, then completed his graduation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture. After the attainment of this degree, Ritesh moved out of the country to practice architectural works. To date, he has not left his degree in a corner rather he has used it to become more successful. Riteish Deshmukh is the owner of an interior design firm named Evolution.

Riteish Deshmukh started his career in 2003 with the film Tujhe Meri Kasam. He started his career with Genelia D’Souza. However, he got recognition in 2004 with the film Masti. The nation appreciated Riteish more for his comedy characters than for his serious characters. After stepping into Bollywood, Ritesh never looked back. After Masti, she has bagged several films like Bardasht in 2004, Naach in 2005, Kya Kool Hai Hum, and Mr & Mrs. However, that year she shared the screen with Abhishek Bachchan in the film Bluffmaster. He then appeared in Malamaal Weekly and Cash.

One of his biggest hits Heyy Babyy in 2007, Akshay Kumar and Fardeen Khan received positive reviews. Apart from Heyy Babyy, he was also seen as a comic character in Dhamaal in the same year which was appreciated by the audience.

Apart from these, he made guest appearances in a few movies like Darna Zaroori Hai and Namastey London. In 2009, he got a film in which he was in the lead role. The film was De Taali. Though the film did not receive enough appreciation, Riteish as Chamku was extremely affectionate and fond.

In 2009, he made his big-screen debut in the film Aladdin alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, and Jacqueline Fernandez. That year again he got a chance to work in a film with Amitabh Bachchan. The film was Rann, in which Ritesh played a supporting role. Amitabh Bachchan was accompanied by Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav. Do Not Disturb that year was his last film starring Govinda, Sushmita Sen, Sohail Khan, and Lara Dutta.

In 2010, Riteish stepped into his first film of that year, Housefull. She was also accompanied by Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Lara Dutta, Arjun Rampal, and Jiah Khan in that film. Although the film did not receive optimistic reviews from critics, it received a commercial promotion. Apart from this, he was also seen in a popular film named Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai.

Ritesh played the role of Bajirao in the movie F.A.L.T.U which was released in the year 2011. Apart from this film that year, he came up with a sequel Double Dhamaal. Both the films did not do anything special in the Bollywood environment.

In 2012, he was paired opposite Genelia D’Souza in the film Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya. However, this time the pair was avoided by everyone and appreciated a lot. This year also Riteish presented himself with a new sequel film Housefull 2. Riteish Deshmukh has appeared in several sequel films. Of all the sequels in his life, Housefull 2 ​​is considered the most successful. Apart from Housefull 2 ​​in 2012, he also came up with Kya Super Kool Hain Hum which is another installment of Kya Kool Hain Hum.

In 2013, Riteish Deshmukh again appeared in a sequel titled Grand Masti which was released in September. Despite receiving negative reviews, the film did well at the box office.

In early 2014, Riteish came up with a comedy romance film titled Humshakals. Later, for the first time, Ritesh appears in the role of an antagonist. The film portrays another side of Ek Villain Riteish Deshmukh which defines his versatility. The nation was stunned to see Riteish Deshmukh in this form. Apart from Hindi, that year he made his debut in the Marathi industry. He played a small role in Lai Bhaari which did not attract much of the audience.

In 2015, he shared the screen, Pulkit Sharma, in Bangistan which was a big failure at the box office. 

In 2016, he appeared in the third part of his comedy franchise Housefull and Masti. Though both Housefull 3 and Great Grand Masti do not appear as big hits at the box office. In the same year, he came up with a musical film titled Banjo.

The following year, in 2017, he appeared in Bank Chor, a comedy film. In 2018 Riteish Deshmukh was seen in a successful Marathi film titled Mauli.

In 2019, he wrapped up with Total Dhamaal which is the third part of Dhamaal. However, the film earned diverse reviews. In that particular year, he also made a splash at the box office with films like Housefull 4 and Marjaavaan. After many years, Ritesh again appeared as a villain in Marjawan.

In 2020 he worked with some notable actors like Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor in the film Baaghi 3.

In present days Riteish Deshmukh is trying hard to hold water to bring his character in the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj trilogy. In no time he can be seen in a horror-comedy film that may release on the OTT platform.

Riteish Deshmukh as a producer 

When his career was in full swing, Riteish made his debut as a producer. Mumbai Film Company is the production company of Riteish Deshmukh which was established in 2013. A Marathi film titled Balak Palak was the first film under the Mumbai Film Company. However, he later decided to give birth to the Hindi remake of that film.

Personal Life

Riteish Deshmukh met the love of his life in his first debut movie Tujhe Meri Kasam and that is none other than Genelia D’Souza. Many times both of them have shared the big screen. After a long wait, both of them married each other on 3 February 2012. She is always with him in every weal and woe. After 2 years Genelia gave birth to their first child Riaan, on 25 November 2014. However later on 1st June 2016, their second child Rahyl came.

Riteish Deshmukh as a team owner 

In 2013 he launched his cricket team in the Celebrity Cricket League named Veer Maratha, where he introduced himself as the captain of the team. His wife Genelia D’Souza is the brand ambassador of that team. Along with this, Ritesh and his brother Dheeraj are the two owners of the team.

Riteish Deshmukh as a social worker  

In 2016 the entertainer made a capitalization of Rs 2.5 million after Latur, which his hometown faced drought in April. However, in 2019 he also contributed 25 lakhs to the flood relief fund in Maharashtra.

In Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, contributed his voice for the character Jay. However, he has hosted several television awards shows like IIFA Awards, Sansui Colors Stardust Awards, Zee Cine Awards. Along with this, he and his wife co-hosted a show called Ladies Vs Gentlemen. Ritesh Yaadon co-hosted a show called Yaadon Ki Baaraat with director Sajid Khan. He also played a major role as a judge in the reality show India’s Dancing Superstar.
